Appointment With Life
Appointment with Life ( ar, موعد مع الحياة, ''Maw`ed Ma` al-Hayat'') is a 1953 Egyptian drama film directed, written and produced by Ezz El-Dine Zulficar. The film stars Faten Hamama, Shoukry Sarhan and Shadia. Plot (Faten Hamama) plays Amal, the only daughter of a famous doctor, who lives with Fatimah (Shadia). Fatimah has a crush on Mamdouh, Amal's father, and Amal is in love with Ahmed (Shoukry Sarhan), an engineer. Amal's father learns of a deadly disease that his daughter has, and decides to hide the truth from her. The doctors have told him that she has only about six months to live, if she can not be cured. Amal finds out and her father faces her with the truth. He requests a talented foreign specialist, who was actually able to cure her disease. She, after recovering, marries her longtime love, Ahmed. Ezz El-Dine Zulficar
Ezz El-Dine Ahmed Mourad Zulficar (Egyptian Arabic: عز الدين ذو الفقار, ; October 28, 1919 – July 1, 1963) was an Egyptian film director, screenwriter, actor and producer known for his distinctive style, which blends romance and action. Zulficar is widely regarded one of the most influential filmmakers in Egyptian Cinema's golden age. Early life Ezz El-Dine Ahmed Mourad Zulficar was born in Cairo on 28 October 1919, his father Ahmed Mourad Bek Zulfikar was a senior director of police and his mother Nabila Hanem Zulfikar was a housewife. Hussein Mohamed Shafiq ( ar, حسين محمد شفيق, more commonly known by his stage name Hussein Riad ( ar, حسين رياض , (1897–1965) was an Egyptian actor, who mainly played "dad roles". His career spanned about 46 years and he appeared in approximately 320 films, 240 theater plays, and 150 radio and 50 TV plays. Faten Hamama
Faten Ahmed Hamama ( ar, فاتن حمامه ; 27 May 1931 – 17 January 2015) was an Egyptian film and television actress and film producer. She was the first wife of Ezz El-Dine Zulficar. She made her screen debut in 1939, when she was only seven years old. Her earliest roles were minor, but her activity and gradual success helped to establish her as a distinguished Egyptian actress. Later revered as an icon in Egyptian cinema.
