''Appata Siri'' ( si, අප්පට සිරි) is a 2017 Sri Lankan Sinhala comedy film directed by Lal Priyadeva and co-produced by N. Udaya Kumara and P. Arooran for Balaji Cine Films and Manon Cine Combines. It stars Mahendra Perera in a dual role with Prashani Perera in lead roles along with Rajiv Nanayakkara and Chalaka Chamupathi. The music was composed by Edward Jayakody. This is the first cinematic appearance by singer Chalaka Chamupathi. It is the 1287th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. Plot Ranaweera is an ordinary man without a job. Suraweera is a wealthy businessman. They both share the same identical looks in this comedy although they have never met. Ranaweera discovers Suraweera and tries to deceive everyone and take on the wealthy lifestyle of Suraweera. Mahendra Perera
Mahendra Shrikantha Perera (born 17 August 1956: si, මහේන්ද්ර පෙරේරා), is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. One of the most influential actors in Sinhala cinema, Mahendra performed from drama to comedy in many blockbuster films. Personal life He was born on 17 August 1956 in Mount-Lavinia, Sri Lanka as the youngest of the family. His father Vincent Perera, was a store manager at the Browns, and his mother Soma Weerasekera, was a matron at several government hospitals. Jayakody Arachchige Don Edward Timothy Jayakody ( Sinhala:එඩ්වඩ් ජයකොඩි: born 6 April 1952), popularly as Edward Jayakody, is a Sri Lankan musician, singer and composer. Jayakody has directed the music for hundreds of Sinhala films and television serials and has also composed many songs for children's programming ("Koppara Koppara"). Jayakody won the Swarna Sanka Award in 1987 for Best Male Singer for the film ''Gedara Budun Amma''. Threeris Hyacinth Wijeratne ( si, හයසින්ත් විජේරත්න; 3 October 1946 – 31 July 2021), was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theatre and television. In a career spanned more than four decades, she was known for her breakthrough roles in ''Karumakkarayo'', '' Tharaka Mal'' and ''Ho Gaana Pokuna.''
