The Apostolic Nunciature to Costa Rica the diplomatic mission of the Holy See to Costa Rica. It is located in San José. The current Apostolic Nuncio is Archbishop Bruno Musarò, who was named to the position by Pope Francis on 29 August 2019. The Apostolic Nunciature to the Republic of Costa Rica is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Costa Rica, with the rank of an embassy. San José, Costa Rica
San José (; meaning "Saint Joseph") is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica, and the capital of the province of the same name. It is in the center of the country, in the mid-west of the Central Valley, within San José Canton. Pier Giacomo De Nicolò (11 March 1929 – 3 April 2021) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See, including stints as Apostolic Nuncio in Costa Rica, Syria, and Switzerland. Lajos Kada (16 November 1924 – 26 November 2001) was a Hungarian prelate of the Catholic Church who spent most of his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See, serving also in the Roman Curia. Biography Lajos Kada was born in Budapest, Hungary, on 16 November 1924. He was ordained a priest on 10 October 1948. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1955. He was the Academy's first Hungarian student. Gennaro Verolino
Gennaro Verolino (3 November 1906, in Naples – 17 November 2005, in Rome) was a Roman Catholic bishop and a diplomat for the Holy See. Life Growing up in Acerra, his mother's birthplace, he studied at the seminary there and then at the Jesuit theological faculty in Naples. He was ordained a priest on 23 December 1928 in the private chapel of Francesco De Pietro, Bishop of Acerra. He was soon invited to Rome to study at the Apollinare, graduating in utroque iure and taking up a diplomatic career in the service of the Holy See. As secretary of the apostolic nuncio Angelo Rotta, he lived in Hungary from 1944 onwards. At risk to his own life and with the support of Rotta and the consent of Pope Pius XII, Verolino saved over 30,000 Jews from the Holocaust by putting them under his diplomatic protection and supplying them with fake passports. Giuseppe Maria Sensi (27 May 1907 – 26 July 2001) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as a longtime Vatican diplomat. Biography Sensi was born in Cosenza, Italy, on 27 May 1907, the sixth of ten children of a prominent local politician. He was ordained a priest in December 1929 at the age of 22. Carlo Chiarlo
Carlo Chiarlo (4 November 1881 – 21 January 1964) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as nuncio to several countries, mostly Latin American, and was elevated to the cardinalate in 1958. Biography Born in Pontremoli, Chiarlo studied at the seminary in Lucca and the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) in Rome before being ordained to the priesthood on 28 May 1904. Giuseppe Fietta (6 November 1883 – 1 October 1960) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1924 to 1958, including a stint as Apostolic Nuncio to Argentina from 1936 to 1953.
