Apostolic Nunciature To Sri Lanka
The Apostolic Nunciature to Sri Lanka is the diplomatic mission of the Holy See to Sri Lanka. It is located in Colombo. The Apostolic Nuncio is Archbishop Brian Udaigwe, who was named to the position by Pope Francis on 13 June 2020. The Apostolic Nunciature to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka is the embassy of the Vatican City State which is a sovereign independent country and it also represents the Pope in his capacity as Head of the Universal Catholic church, with the rank of an embassy. Colombo ( ; si, කොළඹ, translit=Koḷam̆ba, ; ta, கொழும்பு, translit=Koḻumpu, ) is the executive and judicial Capital city, capital and largest city of Sri Lanka by population. Luciano Storero
Luciano Storero (26 September 1926 – 1 October 2000) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Luciano Storero was born in Pinasca, Italy, on 26 September 1926. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1949. To prepare for a diplomatic career he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1951. He joined the diplomatic service in 1953 and his early assignments took him to Egypt, Japan, and Ireland. On 25 November 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him Titular Archbishop of Tigimma and Apostolic Delegate to Ceylon. He received his episcopal consecration on 1 February 1970 from Cardinal Jean-Marie Villot. On 24 December 1970, Storero was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the Dominican Republic. Biography Pierre Nguyên Van Tot was born on 15 April 1949 in Thủ Dầu Một, Bình Dương Province, Vietnam. He was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Phu Cuong on 24 March 1974. Joseph Spiteri (born 20 May 1959) is a Maltese prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He has been Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon since March 2018. Biography Joseph Spiteri was born on 20 May 1959 in Sliema Malta, though the family lived in Luqa. He was the first child born to Ernest Spiteri and Emmanuela née Cassar. Thomas Yeh Sheng-nan
Thomas Yeh Sheng-nan (; born 26 June 1941) is a Taiwanese prelate of the Roman Catholic Church and diplomat of the Holy See. Biography Thomas Yeh Sheng-nan was born on 26 June 1941, in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and was ordained priest on 27 March 1971, for the Diocese of Tainan. He holds a laurea degree in philosophy. In 1972 he was admitted to the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy to study diplomacy. Osvaldo Montecillo Padilla (born 15 August 1942) is a Philippine prelate of the Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He became an archbishop in 1991 and the position of Apostolic Nuncio to several countries before retiring in 2017. Biography He was born on 5 August 1942 in Sogod, Cebu, Philippines. On 17 December 1990, Pope John Paul II named him titular archbishop of Pia and Apostolic Nuncio to Panama. He received his episcopal consecration on 6 January 1991 from John Paul.
