The Apostolic Nunciature to Liberia is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Liberia. Alberto Bottari de Castello (born 5 July 1942) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Alberto Bottari de Castello was born in Montebelluna, Province of Treviso in northern Italy, on 5 July 1942. He was ordained a priest on 11 September 1966. He prepared for a diplomatic career by completing the course of study at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1969. On 18 December 1999, Pope John Paul II named him a titular archbishop and nuncio to Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. He was consecrated a bishop on 6 January 2000. This is a list of diplomatic missions of the Holy See. Since the fifth century, long before the founding of the Vatican City State in 1929, papal envoys (now known as nuncios) have represented the Holy See to foreign potentates. Additionally, papal representatives known not as nuncios but as apostolic delegates ensure contact between the Holy See and the Catholic Church in countries that do not have diplomatic relations with the Holy See. Walter Erbì (born 8 January 1968) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Walter Erbì was born on 8 January 1968 in Turin, Italy. He was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Iglesias on 10 May 1992. Diplomatic career To prepare for a diplomatic career he joined the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1999. Dagoberto Campos Salas is a Costa Rican prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He is the Apostolic Nuncio to Panama since 2022. He is the first native of Costa Rica to hold the title of apostolic nuncio.
