Arthur Hughes (archbishop)
Arthur Walter Hughes, M.Afr. (25 August 1902 – 12 July 1949) was a British prelate of the Catholic Church who led the Pontifical Urban University for a decade. He was appointed the pope's representative to a group of missionary countries but died just as he was taking up that assignment. Biography Arthur Hughes was born on 25 August 1902 in the Clapton neighborhood of London, to parents who had immigrated from Ireland and Wales. He was raised without religion and chose to be a Catholic after leaving school at age 14 and studying independently. He was sent to study at the minor seminary of the Missionaries of Africa in Bishop's Waltham and then in Carthage. He was ordained a priest of that order on 28 June 1927. Jean-Paul Gobel
Jean-Paul Aimé Gobel (born 14 May 1943) is a French prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Gobel was born on 14 May 1943 and ordained a priest for the Diocese of Annecy on 29 June 1969. He completed the program of study at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1970 and then entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See. His early assignments were in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Mozambique, Nicaragua, and Burundi. Michael Louis Fitzgerald
Michael Louis Fitzgerald (born 17 August 1937) is a British cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and an expert on Christian–Muslim relations. He has had the rank of archbishop since 2002. At his retirement in 2012, he was the papal nuncio to Egypt and delegate to the Arab League. He headed the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue from 2002 to 2006. Marco Dino Brogi, O.F.M. (12 March 1932 – 29 November 2020) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the Roman Curia and in diplomatic service of the Holy See. Biography Brogi was born in Egypt and was a Latin-rite Catholic. He was ordained a priest on 5 May 1963. He was working as undersecretary in the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, when Pope John Paul II named Brogi titular archbishop of Città Ducale, Apostolic Nuncio to Sudan, and Apostolic Delegate to Somalia on 13 December 1997. Paolo Giglio
Paolo Giglio (20 January 1927 – 6 March 2016) was a Maltese prelate of the Catholic Church, who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1958 to 2002, with the rank of archbishop and nuncio from 1986. Biography Paolo Giglio was born in Valletta, Malta, on 20 January 1927 to Angelo Giglio and Ludgarda nee Borg. Biography Achille Marie Joseph Glorieux was born in Roubaix, France, on 2 April 1910, one of ten children born to Achille Glorieux (1883–1965), an industrial leader prominent in the Catholic social movement that promoted large families to fight underpopulation. Bruno Bernard Heim (5 March 1911 – 18 March 2003) was the Vatican's first Apostolic Nuncio to Britain and was one of the most prominent armorists of twentieth century ecclesiastical heraldry. Mario Brini (11 May 1908 – 9 December 1995) was an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomat in the Secretariat of State of the Holy See and in the Roman Curia. Biography Mario Brini was born in Piombino, Italy, on 11 May 1908. He was ordained a priest on 29 June 1938. During the Second World War, Brini worked as the resident expert on the Soviet Union for the Secretariat of State.
