Unión Española is a sports entity based in the commune of Independencia, Santiago, Chile. Its main activity is professional soccer, where it currently participates in the First Division of Chile. It has a women's soccer branch, and competes in national tournaments with its lower categories. Hailed as one of the ''four greats'' of Chilean soccer, is one of the longest-running teams in the country. It was founded by a group of Spaniards living in Chile and descendants of Spaniards under the name of Centro Español de Instrucción y Recreación on May 18, 1897. The Panama national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Panamá) represents Panama in men's international football and is governed by the Panamanian Football Federation. The team represents all three FIFA, CONCACAF and the regional UNCAF. Panama qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time for the 2018 tournament in Russia and scored their first goal of the World Cup against England, although they lost the match 6–1. They finished bottom of their group. Panama finished as runners-up in the 2005 Gold Cup and 2013 Gold Cup, losing to the United States on both occasions.
