Apolda Station
Apolda station is a through station on the Halle–Bebra railway in the town of Apolda in the German state of Thuringia. It was opened on 1 April 1890 and Deutsche Bahn assigns it to category 4. Location The station is located on the edge of the Heusdorf district at the north-eastern end of Bahnhofstraße. The terrain is bounded to the south and west by Bahnhofstraße ("station street") and to the north by Sulzaer Straße. The former track field was located to the north of the through station, as well as to the east and west of the platforms. The distance to the city centre is approximately 1 kilometre. Apolda is located at line-kilometre 71.68. History The entrance building of 1846 It is not known exactly when the first entrance building in Apolda was built and inaugurated. Prager House
The Prager-Haus or Bernhard-Prager-Haus is the former home of the Jewish Prager family, situated in Apolda, Thuringia, Germany, in Pragergasse, a narrow alley. The Prager family and the history of Jews in Apolda Bernhard Prager was born on June 28, 1888 and was killed on September 26, 1944 in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. He lived with his family in the house, which he owned, until they were deported. The Prager family in its entirety became victims of the Shoa. Gunter Demnig (born 27 October 1947 in Berlin) is a German artist. He is best known for his ''Stolperstein'' ("stumbling block") memorials to the victims of Nazi persecution, including Jews, homosexuals, Romani and the disabled. The project places engraved brass stones in front of a former residence for a Holocaust victim who was deported and murdered by Nazi Germany, began in Germany and has since spread, with more than 90,000 stones placed across 26 countries in Europe. A midibus is a classification of single-decker minibuses which are generally larger than a traditional minibus but smaller than a full-size single decker and can be anywhere between and long. While used in many parts of the world, the midibus is perhaps most common in the United Kingdom, where operators have found them more economical, and to have a sufficient number of seats compared to full size single-decker buses. Tactile paving (also called tenji blocks, truncated domes, detectable warnings, tactile tiles, tactile ground surface indicators, tactile walking surface indicators, or detectable warning surfaces) is a system of textured ground surface indicators found on stairs and railway station platforms, to assist pedestrians who are vision impaired.
