Apertura 2015 Copa MX
The Apertura 2015 Copa MX was the 74th staging of the Copa MX, the 47th staging in the professional era and is the seventh tournament played since the 1996–97 Copa Mexico, 1996–97 edition. This tournament began on July 28, 2015 and ended November 4, 2015. The winner will face the winner of the Clausura 2016 edition, in the 2016 Supercopa MX for the right to qualify as Mexico 3 to the 2017 Copa Libertadores. Guadalajara won their third title after defeating León 1–0 in the final. Participants This tournament featured clubs from Liga MX who did not participate in the 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League (Club América, América, Querétaro F.C., Querétaro, Santos Laguna and Tigres UANL, UANL) All Ascenso MX teams except FC Juárez and Cimarrones de Sonora, Sonora also participated, no official reason was given for the clubs' exclusion from the tournament. Club León Fútbol Club, also known as León, is a Mexican professional football club based in León, Guanajuato, that competes in the Liga MX, the top flight of Mexican football. León has won the Primera División de México/Liga MX title eight times in 1948, 1949, 1952, 1956, 1992, the Apertura in 2013, the Clausura in 2014, and the Apertura in 2020. Club de Fútbol Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla were a Mexican football club based in Puebla, Mexico. The club represented the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla.
