In the sport of association football, a defender is an outfield position whose primary role is to stop attacks during the game and prevent the opposition from scoring. FC Uralan Elista (russian: ФК Уралан Элиста) is a football club based in Elista, Kalmykia, Russia. History FC Elista was founded in 2005 following the dissolution of its predecessor, FC Uralan Elista. The club entered ''South'' zone of the Amateur Football League and finished second. The Russian First League (russian: Первая лига, Pervaya liga), formerly called Russian First Division (russian: Первый дивизион) and Russian Football National League (FNL) (russian: Первенство Футбольной Национальной Лиги, Pervenstvo Futbol'noy Natsional'noy Ligi) is the second level of the Russian football league system.
