Anvil of Doom was a death metal band from Andalusia, Spain, active since 1999 and currently disbanded. Biography After three years of line-up changes, Anvil of Doom really started their serious career in 2002. Their demo ''Died Before Dawn'' led them to sign a deal with Spanish Metal label Xtreem Music. Throughout 2003, they worked on new material for their first album while improving their live presence, playing through all Andalusia with local bands, even sharing the stage with Spanish legends Barón Rojo, Soziedad Alkoholika, and Avulsed. They also took part in the Xtreem Music Festival in Madrid, with bands like Exodus, Nuclear Assault and Grave. In January 2004, the band began studio sessions for their first album. Malevolent Creation is an American death metal band formed in Buffalo, New York in 1987 and later based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The band's original members were rhythm guitarist Phil Fasciana, vocalist Brett Hoffmann, lead guitarist Jim Nickles, bassist Jason Blachowicz and drummer Dennis Kubas. Fasciana is the only founding member who stayed with the band consistently. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Soilwork is a Swedish melodic death metal band from Helsingborg. They are signed to Nuclear Blast. Formed in late 1995 by Björn Strid and Peter Wichers, originally under the name ''Inferior Breed'', the band changed their name in late 1996 to Soilwork (meaning "working from the ground up"). In Flames is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg in 1990. Alongside At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity, In Flames pioneered the genres known as Swedish death metal and melodic death metal.
