Anvar Arazov
Anvar Talish oglu Arazov ( az, Ənvər Arazov) (2 December 1953, Ganja, Azerbaijan SSR - 2 November 1992, Syrkhavend, Aghdam, Azerbaijan) was the National Hero of Azerbaijan and warrior during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Early life and education Arazov was born on December 2, 1953, in Ganja, Azerbaijan SSR. He completed his secondary education at the Secondary School No. 15. Then he continued his education at the vocational school. He entered the Ganja Polytechnical Technicum. In 1974, Arazov was drafted to the Soviet Armed Forces and served in the Northern Fleet. After completing his military service, he returned to Ganja and started working at the Crystal Factory. At the same time, Arazov completed his unfinished education and graduated from the college in 1980. Personal life Arazov was married and had one daughter. Agdam District
Aghdam District ( az, Ağdam rayonu) is one of the 66 administrative divisions of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Karabakh Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Khojaly, Kalbajar, Tartar, Khojavend, Aghjabadi, and Barda. Its capital is de jure Aghdam, though the current ''de facto'' capital is Quzanlı. As of 2020, the district had a nominal population of 204,000. Most of the territory of the district was under Armenia following the First Nagorno-Karabakh War in the early 1990s. Syrkhavend ( az, Sırxavənd) or Nor Ghazanchi ( hy, Նոր Ղազանչի) is a village that is, '' de facto'', in the Martakert Province of the breakaway Republic of Artsakh; '' de jure'' it is in the Agdam District of Azerbaijan, in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh. The village had an Azerbaijani majority prior to their expulsion during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Geography The village of Nor Ghazanchi was founded on the left bank of the Khachen River in the mountainous regions of Murovdag.
