Anuthin Wongsunkakon
Anuthin Wongsunkakon ( th, อนุทิน วงศ์สรรคกร; born 1973) is a Thai type designer and one of the founding partners of Cadson Demak, a Thai communication design firm. He began studying graphic design at Rangsit University during the time when the Thai design industry made its shift from pre-computer to computer based design. After completing his bachelor's degree he continued his studies in New York at Pratt Institute, choosing it for the city it’s in rather than for its prestigiousness or distinction. Anuthin and two of his close friends found Cadson Demak in 2002, however, they eventually steered the company to communication and type design, which are their main services from then on. Much of his work deals with print, logotype, and lettering, but he is best known for his contribution to Thai typography and for reintroducing custom font design service to the local business industry. Type design is the art and process of designing typefaces. This involves drawing each letterform using a consistent style. The basic concepts and design variables are described below. A typeface differs from other modes of graphic production such as handwriting and drawing in that it is a fixed set of alphanumeric characters with specific characteristics to be used repetitively. Historically, these were physical elements, called sorts, placed in a wooden frame; modern typefaces are stored and used electronically. It is the art of a type designer to develop a pleasing and functional typeface. Vladimir John Ondrasik III (born January 7, 1965), also known by his stage name Five for Fighting, is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. He is best known for his piano-based soft rock ballads, such as the top 40 hits "Superman (It's Not Easy)" (2001), " 100 Years" (2003) " The Riddle" (2006). He also had a string of moderate hits on the adult contemporary charts in the late 2000s and into the 2010s, including "World" (2006) and " Chances" (2009). Ondrasik has recorded six studio albums, one EP, and several live albums as Five for Fighting. Ondrasik's song "Superman" was nominated for a Grammy in 2002. Chulalongkorn University (CU, th, จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย, ), nicknamed Chula ( th, จุฬาฯ), is a public and autonomous research university in Bangkok, Thailand. The university was originally founded during King Chulalongkorn's reign as a school for training royal pages and civil servants in 1899 (B.E. 2442) at the Grand Palace of Thailand. The Type Directors Club (TDC) is an international organization devoted to typography and type design, founded in 1946 in New York City.
