Anurag Verma
Anurag Verma (born 5 August 1990) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Wellington. He is a right-handed middle-order batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler. He had previously played first-class, List-A and Twenty20 games for Northern Districts. After making his debut as a substitute against Otago in Dunedin on 20 November 2011, he took 7-82 against Auckland Rugby Football Union in Hamilton in his first full match. He played his first competitive match in early 2007, taking 3 for 54 against Canterbury County in the Hawke Cup. In December 2007 he was called up for the Under-19 v NZCPA Masters fixture, where he dismissed former New Zealand opener Matt Horne. He was subsequently included in the squad for the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia. Hamilton ( mi, Kirikiriroa) is an inland city in the North Island of New Zealand. Located on the banks of the Waikato River, it is the seat and most populous city of the Waikato region. Matt Horne
Matthew Jeffery Horne (born 5 December 1970) is a former New Zealand cricketer who played in 35 Tests and 50 ODIs from 1997 to 2003. Horne was an attacking right-handed opening batsman who possessed an unusually high backlift. Early life and family Horne was born in Takapuna on 5 December 1970, the son of Noelene Rae Horne (née Swinton), who represented New Zealand in the high jump, and Valentine Arthur Horne. His older brother Phil also played international cricket for New Zealand. Domestic career In the 1995–96 Shell Trophy final he made 190 to hand Auckland the championship. Hawke Cup
The Hawke Cup is a non-first-class cricket competition for New Zealand's district associations. Apart from 1910–11, 1912–13 and 2000–01 the competition has always been on a challenge basis. To win the Hawke Cup, the challengers must beat the holders, either outright or on the first innings in a drawn match, on the holders' home ground. Teams from New Zealand's four main centres, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin, have not usually competed for the Hawke Cup, although they did participate in the latter half of the 1990s. They were excluded again from the 2000–01 season. From 2000 to 2010 the team from Hamilton, New Zealand's fourth-largest urban area, was the most successful. Auckland Rugby Football Union
The Auckland Rugby Union is a New Zealand provincial rugby union. The union was established in 1883 and was originally responsible for the administration of the sport in most of the former Auckland Province, although its boundaries have since shrunk to include only a portion of the Auckland urban area.
