''Anumati'' is a 2013 Marathi film directed and written by Gajendra Ahire. The film stars Vikram Gokhale and Neena Kulkarni in the lead roles. The film has received wide critical acclaim. It won the Best Feature Film Award at the New York Indian Film Festival and Gokhale received National Film Award for Best Actor for his role. Anupam Khers The Signature movie is the remake of Anumati. Plot The movie is based on the helplessness of old man whose wife slips into coma and is on ventilator in the hospital. Expenditures of hospitalisation and medicine are beyond his means. One day he wanders into the home of his college days friend and she learns of the situation after seeing the hospital file in his bag. She goes to hospital and deposits the required money but when she returns, she finds him collapsed dead on the dining table. Gajendra Vitthal Ahire is an Indian Marathi film maker and screenwriter. Till now, he has 57 movies on his name in all of which he has contributed as Director, Story, Screenplay, Dialogues and Lyrics. He is noted for his work in Marathi cinema, including a 2003 ' Not Only Mrs. Raut' , 2007 biopic about Vasudev Balwant Phadke and has also worked as a television screenwriter for programs such as Shrimaan-Shrimati. The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) is an annual film festival that takes place in New York City, and screens films relating to India, the Indian Diaspora, and the work of Indian filmmakers. Vikram Gokhale (14 November 1945 – 26 November 2022) was an Indian film, television and stage actor, noted for his roles in Marathi theatre, Hindi films and television. He was the son of the Veteran Marathi theater and film actor, Chandrakant Gokhale. Gokhale made his directorial debut in 2010, with the Marathi film ''Aaghaat''. Produced by Sprint Arts Creation in 2013, he won the National Film Award for Best Actor category for his Marathi film '' Anumati''. Early and personal life Gokhale was born in Pune, Bombay Presidency on 14 November 1945. Govind Nihalani
Govind Nihalani (born 19 December 1940) is an Indian film director, cinematographer, screenwriter and producer, known for his works in Hindi cinema. He has been the recipient of six National Film Awards, and five Bollywood Filmfare Awards. In 1996, his script for ''Drohkaal'' was adapted by Kamal Haasan for its Tamil remake, '' Kuruthipunal'', which subsequently became India's official entry for the 68th Academy Awards Best Foreign Language Film category. Anand Abhyankar (2 June 1963 – 24 December 2012) was an Indian Marathi film, television and theatre actor. He starred in films such as ''Spandan'' (2012), ''Balgandharva'' (2011), ''Matichya Chuli'' (2006), ''Vaastav'' (1999) and ''Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain''.
