Antonín Bartoň
Antonín Bartoň (December 12, 1908 in Vysoké nad Jizerou, Bohemia – September 9, 1982) was a Czechoslovakian Nordic skier who competed in the 1930s. He won two silver medals at the 1933 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Innsbruck (Nordic combined and 4 x 10 km). Bartoň finished 6th in the Nordic combined event at the 1932 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York Lake Placid is a village in the Adirondack Mountains in Essex County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 2,303. The village of Lake Placid is near the center of the town of North Elba, southwest of Plattsburg .... A ski is a narrow strip of semi-rigid material worn underfoot to glide over snow. Substantially longer than wide and characteristically employed in pairs, skis are attached to ski boots with ski bindings, with either a free, lockable, or partially secured heel.
