Antony Eastman
Antony Eastman (26 August 1946 – 3 July 2021) was an Indian film director. He directed six films, Ambada Njaane! being his most noteworthy film. He was also credited with bringing Silk Smitha to the Malayalam film industry. Early life Antony was born as the son of Muringatheri Kuriakose and Martha on 26 August 1946 in Chowannur, Kingdom of Cochin, British India. He completed his school education from Chowannur St Thomas School and Kunnamkulam Government High School. He started his career as a photographer in mid - 1960s. He started a studio, Eastman, in Ernakulam and soon, he came to be known as Antony Eastman. Personal life He was married to Mary and the couple have a son and a daughter Ganji and Mini. Career His directorial debut film was Inaye Thedi (1979) which was also debut work for Silk Smitha, Johnson Master, Kaloor Dennis and John Paul. Chowannur is a place in Thrissur district, state of Kerala, India. Kingdom Of Cochin
The Kingdom of Cochin, named after its capital in the city of Kochi (Cochin), was a kingdom in the central part of present-day Kerala state. It commenced at the early part of the 12th century and continued to rule until 1949, when monarchy was abolished by the dominion of India. Historically, the capital of Cochin was in Kodungallur (Cranganore), but in 1341 the capital was moved to Cochin inorder to remedy a disastrous flood. By the early 15th century, Cochin lost its ability to fully defend itself. By the late 15th century, the Cochin kingdom shrank to its minimal extent as a result of invasions by the Zamorin of Calicut. Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati (2 December 1960 – 23 September 1996), better known by her stage name Silk Smitha, was an Indian actress and dancer who worked predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films.
