Antonio Mayers
Antonio Nigel Mayers (born 23 October 1979) is a former Barbadian cricketer who represented both Barbados and West Indies B in West Indian domestic cricket. He was an all-rounder who bowled right-arm medium pace (just like Kyle Mayers does) and batted right-handed unlike Kyle Mayers who is a left handed batsman. He was one of two cricketers from the same family to make their test match cricket debut the other being Kyle Mayers. He made his senior debut for Barbados in October 1998, playing a limited-overs game against the United States during the 1998–99 Red Stripe Bowl. His first-class debut came in January 2000, in the 1999–00 Busta Cup. In the 2001–02 Busta Cup, Mayers was selected to play for West Indies B (effectively a development squad). He scored two half-centuries during the season (55 against Bangladesh A and 50 against the Windward Islands), which were his highest scores at first-class level. Saint Joseph, Barbados
The parish of Saint Joseph is a parish of Barbados on the eastern side of the island. The parish is home to two of the more notable botanic gardens in the country - Flower Forest and Andromeda Gardens. Anguilla National Cricket Team
The Anguilla national cricket team is the representative cricket team of Anguilla. The team takes part in inter-regional cricket competitions in the Caribbean, but has only appeared in senior cricket twice, in the two Stanford 20/20 tournaments. For domestic first-class and List A purposes, Anguilla is subsumed into the Leeward Islands cricket team. The first Anguillian to play Test cricket for West Indies was Omari Banks in 2003. History Representative cricket has been played by Anguilla since the late 1970s. Early games were played as part of the three-day (but not first-class) Heineken Challenge Trophy (the sponsored Leeward Islands Tournament), although at first the team was not a full participant and played only two games each year in the 1977, 1978 and 1979 tournaments. Stanford 20/20
The Stanford 20/20 was a short-lived cricket tournament in the Caribbean island of Antigua. It was held first in July and August 2006 in the West Indies at the Stanford Cricket Ground, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda, and then again in the same place in 2008. It was a variety of the popular Twenty20 format, which had been first introduced in English cricket in 2003. The tournament was separate to the Stanford Super Series, which was held in late 2008. The tournament was privately devised and funded by wealthy American businessman Allen Stanford, who held Antiguan dual nationality. It has been alleged that Stanford's creation of the tournament was a method of laundering his income from the fraudulent business schemes for which he is now serving a lengthy penal sentence in the U.S.A. 19 teams took part in the inaugural knock-out tournament and 20 teams took part in the second tournament (although 21 teams were originally scheduled to take part). The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The team plays in the West Indies Professional Cricket League (including the NAGICO Regional Super50) under the franchise name Windward Islands Volcanoes. It includes the islands that were known as the British Windward Islands except for Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, who have their own teams. Thus, it includes Dominica (technically one of the Leeward Islands, but as it was part of the Windward Islands colony from 1940 until independence, its cricket federation remains a part of the Windward Islands), Grenada, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. 2001–02 Busta Cup
The 2001–02 Busta Cup was the 36th edition of what is now the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). It was played from 25 January to 8 March 2002. Eight teams contested the competition, which was played as a round-robin. The six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands) were joined by a development team ( West Indies B) and an invited overseas team ( Bangladesh A). Jamaica finished undefeated on the top of the table, claiming a sixth domestic first-class title. The Busta Cup was followed by a brief knockout competition called the Busta International Shield.
