Antonio E. Molina
Antonio E. Molina (c. 1820 – 21 August 1899) was one of five interim mayors of Ponce, Puerto Rico, during the six-month period of 14 February 1854 to 24 July 1854. Introduction to politics In 1853, prior to becoming mayor, Molina (together with Esteban Vidal, Bienaventura Font, Salvador Coronas and Pedro Alfonso) had been members of the Ponce Municipal Assembly. At that time a member of the municipal assembly was called ''regidor''. The other four interim mayors during that six-month period were Julio Duboc, Escolástico Fuentes, Pablo Manfredi, and José Benito Paz Falcón. Mayoral term In 1854, an anonymous humorous and satirical brochure titled ''Ensaladillas'' appeared in Ponce which was not well received. On 31 December 1854, the mayor of Ponce published an edict in the local newspaper that anyone caught reading or copying the brochure would be fined 4 ''pesos''. José Benito Paz Falcón
José Benito Paz Falcón (c. 1800 – c. 1860) was one of five interim mayors of Ponce, Puerto Rico, during the period of 14 February 1854 to 24 July 1854. The other four interim mayors during that six-month period were Julio Duboc, Escolástico Fuentes, Pablo Manfredi, and Antonio E. Molina. Introduction to politics In 1820, Paz Falcón had been part of the Ponce ayuntamiento under mayor Ortiz de la Renta where he performed as one of two ''Sindico procurador,'' some 34 years before he became mayor himself. Félix O'Neill (mayor)
Félix O'Neill (c. 1800 – c. 1870) was Mayor of Ponce, Puerto Rico, from 24 July 1854 to August 1856. He was a Spanish military officer with the rank of Coronel. Mayoral term He is well remembered for producing, on 20 August 1856, his 20-point edict titled "Disposiciones Acordadas Por la Municipalidad de Esta Villa, que deben observarse en caso de ser invadida esta Poblacion por la epidemia del Colera-morbo" (Dispositions Agreed Upon by the Municipal Government of this Village, to be observed in the event our People are invaded by the Cholera Morbus epidemic). Julio Duboc (c. 1800 – c. 1860) was one of five interim mayors of Ponce, Puerto Rico, during the period of 14 February 1854 to 24 July 1854. The other four interim mayors during that six-month period were Escolástico Fuentes, Pablo Manfredi, José Benito Paz Falcón, and Antonio E. Molina. The position was the result of the new ''Decreto Orgánico de 1846'' (1846 Organic Decree), a new Law for Municipalities that allowed for increased centralization of public administration and greater political control over municipalities.Emilio J. Cementerio Civil De Ponce
Cementerio Civil de Ponce (Ponce Civil Cemetery), a.k.a., Cementerio Municipal de Ponce, is a historic burial ground in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1901. It was designed by Manuel V. Domenech. Some of the people buried at Cementerio Civil include Ruth Fernández, Isabel la Negra and Héctor Lavoe. It is believed to be the largest cemetery in Puerto Rico. The cemetery is also home to the Monumento a los heroes de El Polvorín (Monument to the ''El Polvorin'' Heroes).
