Antonio Cruz (cyclist)
Antonio "Tony" Cruz (born October 31, 1971) is an American former professional road bicycle racer from the United States, who last rode for BMC Racing Team. In 1999 Cruz was the USPRO National Criterium Champion, and became professional. In 2000 he finished 3rd at the USPRO National Championships Criterium in Downer’s Grove, Illinois. In 2004 and 2006 Tony Cruz won the Tour de Nez. He also finished fourth on stage 16 of the 2004 Vuelta a España. He is of Mexican American descent. Cruz is a surname of Iberian origin, first found in Castile, Spain, but later spread throughout the territories of the former Spanish and Portuguese Empires. Tour De Langkawi
The Tour de Langkawi is a multiple stage bicycle race held in Malaysia. It is named after the archipelago Langkawi, where the first edition started and finished. The race has been held annually since 1996, primarily in February. It usually consists of 10-day-long segments (stages) over 10 days, but has been reduced to eight stages over recent years. While the route changes each year, the Genting Highlands climb, the toughest in the tour, is always included. Tour de Langkawi is sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI) as a 2.HC road race in the UCI Asia Tour calendar. The race will become part of the new UCI ProSeries in 2020. The 59th edition of the ''Vuelta a España'' (Tour of Spain), a long-distance Bicycle racing, bicycle Stage (bicycle race), stage race and one of the three Grand Tour (cycling), grand tours, was held from 4 September to 26 September 2004. It consisted of 21 stages covering a total of , and was won by Roberto Heras of the Liberty Seguros cycling team. Halfway through the 2004 Vuelta, it appeared it would become an easy win for Heras, but in the last week his fellow countryman Santiago Pérez (cyclist), Santiago Pérez won two heavy mountain stages, thus becoming an important rival. Eventually Heras won with only 30 seconds advantage on Pérez. Pérez and Phonak (cycling team), Phonak hearing systems teammate Tyler Hamilton would later test positive for blood doping from blood samples taken during the race.
