Antoni Ksawery Sotkiewicz
Antoni Franciszek Ksawery Sotkiewicz (12 January 1826 4 May 1901) was a Roman Catholic bishop of Sandomierz and professor. Ordained a priest in 1849, he served as a professor in various institutions before being consecrated Bishop of Sandomierz in 1883. Biography Sotkiewicz was born on 12 January 1826. He begun attending the seminary in Sandomierz in 1842. He was ordained a subdeacon on 25 July 1849 and a deacon on 29 July; he was ordained a priest on 5 August by Józef Goldtmann. He obtained a doctorate of theology from the in 1850. On 24 August 1853, he was appointed viceregent and a professor of the diocesian seminary in Sandomierz. He was nominated a professor of church law at the Akademia Duchowna w Warszawie on 22 December 1861 and would serve as professor until 1867. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Sandomierz ( la, Sandomirien(sis)) is a diocese located in the city of Sandomierz in the Ecclesiastical province of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lublin, Lublin in Poland. Józef Goldtmann
Józef Joachim Goldtmann (21 March 1782 – 22 March 1853) was a bishop of the Diocese of Sandomierz. Goldtmann was born on 21 March 1782 to Charles and Francisca Goldtmann in Wejherowo; he would be baptized the same day. In 1804, Goldtmann entered the seminary in Łowicz. He would be ordained a priest in 1806. In addition, he would be appointed canon for the cathedral of the Diocese of Włocławek in 1824 and officiant of the diocese in 1825. On 15 September 1838, Goldtmann was consecrated bishop of Włocławek and titular bishop of Carystus; he would begin his term on 17 September. He would be transferred to the Diocese of Sandomierz in 1844. Wincenty Teofil Popiel-Chościak (born 21 July 1825 in Czaple Wielkie, died on 7 December 1912 in Warsaw) was a Polish Latin Church, Roman Catholic priest, Bishop of Płock from 1863 to 1875, Bishop of Kujawy, Bishop of Kujawy–Kaliska from 1876 to 1883, and the metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw from 1883 to 1912. Life Popiel was the son of Konstanty Popiel and Zofia von Badenich. He studied law in Warsaw, after which he went work in the judiciary. After his father's death, when he returned to Czaple Wielkie he decided to attend the seminary in Kielce (:pl:Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne w Kielcach, Wyższe Seminarium Duchowne w Kielcach). He completed his studies there in 1849. He was ordained a Priesthood in the Catholic Church, priest on 5 August 1849. He then studied at Leuven in Belgium, where he received a doctorate in theology.
