Anton Tabone
Anton Tabone (born 1937) is a Maltese politician. Appointed the first Minister for Gozo Affairs in 1987 he was re-appointed in the same portfolio in 1992, a post he held up to 1996. Between 1998 and 2008 he served as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Whilst Minister for Gozo he promoted the regional aspect of the island in the national context and within the Conference of Peripheral and Maritime Regions of Europe (CPMR), wherein Gozo participates as a full Member. As Speaker of the House he promoted Malta’s initiative to establish a Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and the setting up of its Secretariat in Malta. He undertook with success the difficult transition of Malta’s Parliament from that of a non-member state to one of a member state when Malta became a Member of the European Union in 2004. Louis Galea
Louis Galea (born 2 January 1948) is a Maltese politician who was Malta's representative on the European Court of Auditors from 2010 till 2016. Previously he served in the government of Malta as Minister of Education from 1998 to 2008 and was Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta from 2008 to 2010. Education Galea was educated at De La Salle College in Cospicua and at the University of Malta. As a student Galea was one of the main organisers of the campaign for Better Housing in 1968. He was President of the Students’ Catholic Guild (1969), Secretary of the Students’ Representative Council (1972), and President of the Council (1973). Nationalist Party (Malta)
The Nationalist Party ( mt, Partit Nazzjonalista, PN) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Malta, along with the Labour Party. It is a Christian-democratic, and conservative political party, and it has been also described as centrist or centre-right on the political spectrum. It is supportive of Malta's membership in the European Union. It is currently in opposition to the Labour Party.
