Kimry
Kimry (russian: Ки́мры), formerly Kimra (), is a town in the south of Tver Oblast, Russia, located on the Volga River at its confluence with the Kimrka River, to the east of Tver. Population: History The town was known as Kimra until the beginning of the 20th century; the name is probably of Finnic or Baltic origin. It was first mentioned in 1546 as a selo belonging to Ivan the Terrible. It belonged to Russian Tsars until 1677 and then was given to the Saltykov family. In 1847, the inhabitants bought themselves out, and Kimra quickly developed into a busy shoemaking and trading village on the left bank of the Volga (a boot appears on the town's coat of arms). ''Friday'' (russian: Пятница, Pyatnitsa) is a 2016 Russian comedy film directed by Yevgeny Shelyakin. Plot The film shows a Friday evening in one posh Moscow nightclub, which is just celebrating the anniversary of its opening. In the club this evening the rich "mama's boy" Mikhail Bondar is having fun, who has his own big shoe producing company, although which is currently in crisis. He is very passionate, likes to argue and show off, but does not like to lose. Friends play a trick on him and offer him a dispute: he will serve the restaurant's attendees as a waiter until 3 am and if he gets 10,000 rubles a tip at the end of the evening he will win. As a prize, he will receive his friend's car or lose his. This task is difficult for Bondar who was born with the silver spoon and has a tough temper, but now he has to work hard to appease moody clients. A stilyaga ( rus, стиляга, p=sʲtʲɪˈlʲaɡə) was primarily distinguished by snappy clothing—preferably foreign-label, acquired from ''fartsovshchiks'' (those who engage in '' fartsovka'') —that contrasted with the communist realities of the time, and a fascination with '' zagranitsa'', modern Western music and fashions corresponding to those of the Beat Generation. English writings on Soviet culture variously translated the derogatory term as " dandies", " fashionistas", "beatniks", " hipsters", or " zoot suiters". Alexandrinsky Theatre
The Alexandrinsky Theatre (russian: Александринский театр) or National Drama Theatre of Russia is a theatre in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The Alexandrinsky Theatre was built for the Imperial troupe of Petersburg (Imperial troupe was founded in 1756). Since 1832, the theatre has occupied an Empire-style building that Carlo Rossi designed. It was built in 1828–1832 on Alexandrinsky Square (now Ostrovsky Square), which is situated on Nevsky Prospekt between the National Library of Russia and Anichkov Palace. The theatre was opened on 31 August (12 September) 1832. The theatre and the square were named after Empress consort Alexandra Feodorovna. Valery Vladimirovich Fokin (russian: Валерий Владимирович Фокин; born 28 February 1946) is a Soviet and Russian theatrical and film director, actor and pedagogue. He is the Artistic Director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, and the President of The Meyerhold Centre in Moscow. Fokin is decorated with four honorary Russian state awards.
