Anton Quni
Anton Quni (born 9 June 1967) is the Kosovan Albanian and former Minister of Defense of Kosovo and of the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF), as well as the former Commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Career He studied at the Military Academy in Belgrade and with the highest grades was promoted as a career officer with the Yugoslav People's Army. With the dissolution of Yugoslavia, he went to live in Switzerland and Croatia. When war erupted in Kosovo in 1998, Antoni left Switzerland to take part. He joined the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) under the command of the Minister of War, Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi. With his unit, he conducted successful military operations in breaking the Yugoslav-Albanian border, in Koshare. Quni along with commanders Agim Ramadani, Sali Çekaj, Xhemajl Fetahu, and other soldiers took part in the historic victory against the Yugoslav Army in the Battle of Koshare. Hashim Thaçi
Hashim Thaçi (; born 24 April 1968) is a Kosovar Albanian politician who was the president of Kosovo from April 2016 until his resignation on 5 November 2020 to face a war crimes tribunal. He was the first prime minister of Kosovo and the Foreign minister and deputy prime minister in the new cabinet led by Isa Mustafa, which assumed office on 12 December 2014. Thaçi is from the region of Drenica in Kosovo, which is where the KLA originated. He studied philosophy in Prishtina before moving to Switzerland, where he joined the Kosovo Liberation Army in 1993. He rose through the ranks of the KLA to become leader of the most powerful faction by 1999, during the Rambouillet negotiations. He then joined the interim Kosovo administration after the war. The Albanians of Kosovo ( sq, Shqiptarët e Kosovës, ), also commonly called Kosovo Albanians, Kosovar/Kosovan Albanians or Kosovars/Kosovans, constitute the largest ethnic group in Kosovo. Kosovo Albanians belong to the ethnic Albanian sub-group of Ghegs, who inhabit the north of Albania, north of the Shkumbin river, Kosovo, southern Serbia, and western parts of North Macedonia. Sali Çekaj
Sali Çekaj (22 June 1956 – 19 April 1999) was an Albanian commander of the Armed Force of Republic of Kosovo (FARK) and Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and activist of Albanian Nation. He was killed in action on 19 April 1999 at the Battle of Košare, during the fighting with Yugoslav forces. Sali Çekaj was the first commander of the first-two military groups that had conducted military exercises between 1990 and 1991 in Albania. Part of those groups were also Adem Jashari and Zahir Pajaziti. Sali Çekaj since 1991 organized guerrilla attacks on Serbian police stations in many villages in the Dukagjini region. He was also one of the main commanders of the Battle of Košare. He took part also at Battle of Lodja and several battles in the Dukagjini region during the Kosovo War. Agim Ramadani
Agim Ramadani (3 May 1963 – 11 April 1999) also known with nickname Katana, was an Albanian commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), an ethnic Albanian paramilitary organization that sought the independence of Kosovo from Serbia. He was killed in action during the Battle of Košare. After his death, he was given the decoration Hero of Kosovo. Biography Agim Ramadani was born on 3 May 1963 in the village of Žegra in the municipality of Gnjilane in AP Kosovo. He studied at the higher technical school in Gnjilane in 1980, and the Military Academy for communications in Zagreb, SR Croatia. Poetry and painting were his passions during high school.
