Anton Lončar
Anton Lončar (born 15 January 1996) is a Croatian swimmer. In 2019 he competed in the men's 100 metre backstroke and men's 200 metre backstroke events at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships, Held in Gwangju, South Korea. He placed 35th in the 100m and 23rd in the 200m. He also competed in the men's 100 metre backstroke and men's 200 metre backstroke events at the 2018 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m), in Hangzhou, China. Lončar placed 16th in the 100m, setting the national record of 51.09 s in the process, and placed 13th in the 200m in a time of 1:51.79. Lončar also competed in the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, and in the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) in Windsor, Ontario, in the 100m and 200m backstroke events. Backstroke
Backstroke or back crawl is one of the four Swimming (sport), swimming styles used in competitive events regulated by FINA, and the only one of these styles swum on the back. This swimming style has the advantage of easy breathing, but the disadvantage of swimmers not being able to see where they are going. It also has a different start from the other three competition swimming styles. The swimming style is similar to an ''upside down'' front crawl or freestyle. Both backstroke and front crawl are long-axis strokes. In individual medley backstroke is the second style swum; in the medley relay it is the first style swum. 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships
The 2017 European Short Course Swimming Championships took place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 13 to 17 December 2017. The meet was held in the Royal Arena, which was finished in early 2017. It was the first major sports event in this arena, which has a capacity of circa 12,500. It was the second time that Denmark hosted this event, after the 2013 edition in Herning. Bidding process Poland and Italy were also bidding to host the championships. The decision to select Copenhagen was announced by LEN President Paolo Barelli on 9 October 2015.
