Anton Hoffmann
Anton Hoffmann was an important designer and builder in Prussian-time Bydgoszcz during the entire second half of the 19th century. He witnessed the transformation of Bydgoszcz, creating numerous residential buildings throughout the city. His activity became, in a sense, an indicator of Bydgoszcz building traditions, bridging old neo classicist masters and their successors, inspired by Historicism and Art Nouveau. Life Anton's family Anton Hoffmann came from Greater Poland. He was born at the beginning of the 1820s in Chodzież (then ''Kolmar in Posen''). He was the first-born son of Anton Hoffmann, a translator, and Johanna née Braun. His year of birth raises doubts, but one assumes Anton's most reliable date of birth is May 24, 1823. He spent the first several years of his life in his hometown of Chodzież, probably graduating from elementary school here. Chodzież
Chodzież (german: Kolmar in Posen) is a town in northwestern Poland with 17,976 inhabitants as of December 2021. Situated in the Chodzież County, Greater Poland Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Piła Voivodeship (1975–1998). Jezuicka Street is a street located in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Many of its buildings are either registered on Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship heritage list, or part of Bydgoszcz local history. Location The street lies in the western part of the Old Town. It connects Długa street and Farna street, where stands Bydgoszcz cathedral, following along a north–south path. It is 150 m long. Bocianowo Street is a long path in the northern part of Bydgoszcz city. Its facades display various architectural styles and its history sticks with the end-of-19th-century development of the town. Location Located in the Bocianowo district, the street is laid on an east-west axis, from Pomorska street to Sowińskiego street.
