Anton Filippov
Anton Filippov (born 6 December 1986 in Tashkent) is an Uzbekistani chess Grandmaster (2008). He won the Asian Under-16 Chess Championship in 2001 in Doha, and the Asian U18 Championship in 2004. In 2007 he tied for 1st–3rd with Vladimir Egin and Timur Gareev in the Uzbekistani Chess Championship. In 2008 he won the first Kuala Lumpur Open Championship and tied for 4–8th with Tamaz Gelashvili, Constantin Lupulescu, Nidjat Mamedov and Alexander Zubarev in the Open Romgaz Tournament in Bucharest 2008. In 2009, he won the fourth President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo Cup in Manila, tied for second with Shakhriyar Mamedyarov in the fourth Kolkata Open, tied for 3rd–8th with Vadim Malakhatko, Elshan Moradiabadi, Merab Gagunashvili, Alexander Shabalov and Niaz Murshed in the Ravana Challenge Tournament in Colombo. Shahriyar Hamid oghlu Mammadyarov ( az, Şəhriyar Həmid oğlu Məmmədyarov; born 12 April 1985), known internationally as Shakhriyar Mamedyarov , is an Azerbaijani chess grandmaster. he is ranked No. 1 in Azerbaijan and No. 13 in the world. His personal best rating of 2820 makes him the sixth-highest-rated player in chess history. Shukhrat Safin
Shukhrat Safin (3 April 1970 – 20 September 2009) was an Uzbekistani chess player. He was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE in 1999. Safin shared first place with Mikhail Gurevich and Victor Mikhalevski in the Hogeschool Zeeland Tournament in Vlissingen. He finished third on tiebreak score. In 2001, Safin won the Uzbekistani Chess Championship. In late November of the same year, he took part in the FIDE World Championship. Here he was knocked out in the first round by Predrag Nikolić. Florencio Campomanes (22 February 1927 – 3 May 2010) was a Filipino political scientist, chess player, and chess organizer. Education Campomanes was born in Manila and earned his B.A. in political science from the University of the Philippines in 1948. Then, he studied at Brown University (Providence, Rhode Island), where he earned his M.A. in 1951. He undertook doctoral studies at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., from 1949 to 1954. Zhou Jianchao (; born June 11, 1988) is a Chinese chess player. In 2006, he became China's 21st Grandmaster at the age of 17. Zhou competed in the FIDE World Cup in 2007, 2009 and 2015. Career Zhou Jianchao learned to play chess at the age of 6. He achieved the norms required for the Grandmaster title at the 2005 Aeroflot Open (A2 Group), the 2005 Dubai Open and the 2006 Aeroflot Open (A2 Group). Ding Liren (; born 24 October 1992) is a Chinese chess grandmaster. He is the highest rated Chinese chess player in history and is also a three-time Chinese Chess Champion. He was the winner of the 2019 Grand Chess Tour, beating Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in the finals and winning the 2019 Sinquefield Cup, as the first player since 2007 to beat Magnus Carlsen in a playoff. Ding is the first Chinese player ever to play in a Candidates Tournament and pass the 2800 Elo mark on the FIDE world rankings. Surya Sekhar Ganguly (born 24 February 1983), is an Indian chess grandmaster. His peak ELO rating was 2676 (July, 2016). Ganguly became an International Master at the age of 16 and a grandmaster at the age of 19. He has won 40 individual gold, 21 individual silver and 6 individual bronze medals in National as well as International tournaments. The Chess World Cup 2009 was a 128-player single-elimination tournament, played between 20 November and 14 December 2009, in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. The Cup winner qualified for the Candidates stage of the World Chess Championship 2012. Boris Gelfand defeated Ruslan Ponomariov in the final. The winner of the Chess World Cup 2007, Gata Kamsky, was defeated by Wesley So in the third round. Format Matches consisted of two games (except for the final, which consisted of four). Niaz Murshed ( bn, নিয়াজ মোরশেদ; also Morshed; born May 13, 1966) is a Bangladeshi chess player. In 1987 he became the first South Asian to earn the Grandmaster title. Merab Gagunashvili ( ka, მერაბ გაგუნაშვილი; born 3 January 1985) is a Georgian chess grandmaster. He is a two-time Georgian Chess Champion.
