Antide Boyer
Antide Boyer (26 October 1850 – 24 July 1918) was a French manual worker, Provençal dialect writer and journalist from the south of France who became a socialist deputy. He supported strikes and was involved in the fight for worker's rights around the turn of the 19th century. He participated as a volunteer in the Greco-Turkish War of 1897. Early years Antoine Jean-Baptiste Boyer (later known as Antide Boyer) was born on 26 October 1850 in Aubagne, Bouches-du-Rhône. As a child he helped his father, a potter. He spent four years at the minor seminary of Marseille, where he lost his faith in Christianity. He met Pierre Mazière at the seminary, who later wrote under the nom-de-plume Peire Simoun. He worked for the Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée (PLM), then at the La Ciotat shipyards, and then ran a wholesale oil and soap store with his first wife. Aubagne
Aubagne (, ''Aubanha'' in Occitan according to the classic norm or ''Aubagno'' according to the Mistralian norm) is a commune in the southern French department of Bouches-du-Rhône. In 2018, it had a population of 47,208. Its inhabitants are known as ''Aubagnais'' or ''Aubagnaises''. In 2020, the commune was awarded three flowers by the National Council of Towns and Villages in Bloom in the Competition of cities and villages in Bloom. Geography Aubagne is located in the Huveaune Valley and surrounded by the mountain ranges of Garlaban with Sainte-Baume to the north and east of Marseille. Eugène Baudin
Eugène Baudin (29 August 1853 – 11 April 1918) was a French porcelain worker and left-wing politician. He became an activist at an early age, and was forced into exile for his activities during the Paris Commune. After returning to France he was arrested twice for his activism before being elected to the legislature for two terms. At first enthusiastic, he became disillusioned and declined to run for reelection in 1898. He returned to porcelain making, and died in obscurity. Early years (1853–84) Eugène Baudin was born on 29 August 1853 in Vierzon, Cher. He was the son of a porcelain worker who had a large family. Victor Leydet (1845–1908) was a French businessman, politician and novelist. He served as a member of the Senate of France from 1897 to 1908. The Greco-Turkish War of 1897 or the Ottoman-Greek War of 1897 ( or ), also called the Thirty Days' War and known in Greece as the Black '97 (, ''Mauro '97'') or the Unfortunate War ( el, Ατυχής πόλεμος, Atychis polemos), was a war fought between the Kingdom of Greece and the Ottoman Empire.
