Anthony Waters
Anthony Devonne Waters (born July 25, 1985) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played college football at Clemson. He is also the older brother of Indianapolis Colts linebacker Shaquille Leonard. College career Waters attended Clemson University for college. Waters' senior season ended early as he tore his ACL in his left knee September 3, 2006 in the opening game of the season against Florida Atlantic. Professional career San Diego Chargers Waters was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the third round (95th overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft. After missing his entire rookie season in 2007, Waters appeared in seven games for the Chargers in 2008 and recorded three tackles. He was waived by the team on February 26, 2009. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage).
