Anthony Stewart (ice Hockey)
Anthony Stewart (born January 5, 1985) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, having played in the NHL, AHL, and KHL. He was born in Quebec, and his family moved to Toronto while he was a child. Stewart played minor hockey in Toronto, winning three all-Ontario championships. After his minor hockey career, he was selected by the Kingston Frontenacs in the first round of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) draft. After two seasons with Kingston, he was drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, at 25th overall. He spent four years in the Panthers' system, dividing his time between the NHL and the American Hockey League (AHL), after which he joined the Atlanta Thrashers for two years. When the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg to become the new Winnipeg Jets, they did not offer him a new contract, and he signed with the Carolina Hurricanes as a free agent. Anthony Kelvin Stewart (born 18 September 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen. Career Wycombe Wanderers Stewart came through Wycombe Wanderers's youth system and was awarded his first professional contract in 2011. He made his Football League debut against Preston North End on 14 January 2012, playing the full match. Anthony Stewart (born 15 April 1970) is an Australian former professional basketball player who played 17 seasons in the National Basketball League (NBL). He also played multiple seasons for the Hobart Chargers in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL). Career Stewart began his career with the Hobart Devils in 1992, but later joined the Perth Wildcats in 1995 to become an integral part of the Wildcats championship team that year. Stewart continued with the Wildcats for five more seasons and won another championship with the team in 2000. He left the club following his second championship and joined the Cairns Taipans. Anthony W. Stewart (April 15, 1970 – November 15, 2020) was an American college basketball coach. His last position was as head coach of the UT Martin Skyhawks. Since Stewart joined the Skyhawk program as the associate head coach under Heath Schroyer in 2014, the team won 94 games, the most in a six-year time period since they became part of Division I. Stewart was responsible of the team's three straight 20-win campaigns from 2014–2017, a first for the UT team. Also in that span, the Skyhawks won five postseason games and was the only Ohio Valley Conference school to win at least one postseason game in each of the last three seasons. ''Peggy Stewart'' was a Maryland cargo vessel burned on October 19, 1774, in Annapolis as a punishment for contravening the boycott on tea imports which had been imposed in retaliation for the British occupation of Boston following the Boston Tea Party. This event became known as the "Annapolis Tea Party". Background In February 1770, the brig ''Good Intent'' arrived at Annapolis from London, bringing goods ordered by local merchants during 1769. Some of the orders had been placed before the local resolutions in June–July 1769, to boycott goods subject to British tax under the "Townshend Acts" of 1767. The Customs collector at Annapolis would not allow any goods to be landed, even those not subject to tax, until the tax had been paid.
