Anthony Mangnall
Anthony James Holland Mangnall (born 12 August 1989) is a British politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Totnes since 2019. A member of the Conservative Party, he worked in shipbroking and as a special adviser prior to his parliamentary career. Early life Mangnall's early childhood was spent in Zimbabwe and Northern Ireland, and was later educated at the Shrewsbury School in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Mangnall studied history, politics, and sociology at the University of Exeter. During his time at university, he worked as a researcher in the parliamentary office of William Hague. Mangnall moved to Singapore in 2012 to work as a broker for shipbroking company Braemar ACM. He joined Poten and Partners in London in 2014. Mangnall then returned to politics in 2016 and worked in Hague's office as a special adviser. The Independent Group for Change, also known as Change UK, was a British centrist, pro-European Union political party, founded in February 2019 and dissolved ten months later, shortly after all its MPs lost their seats in the 2019 general election. A private member's bill is a bill (proposed law) introduced into a legislature by a legislator who is not acting on behalf of the executive branch. The designation "private member's bill" is used in most Westminster system jurisdictions, in which a "private member" is any member of parliament (MP) who is not a member of the cabinet (executive).
