Anthony Mancini
Anthony Mancini KGOHS (born November 27, 1945) is a Canadian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as the Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth. He retired on November 27, 2020. Biography Early life Born in Mignano Monte Lungo, near Naples, Mancini emigrated to Canada with his family, arriving at Pier 21 on December 1, 1948, and was raised in Montreal. Education Archbishop Mancini received a Bachelor of Arts from Resurrection College at the University of Waterloo, a Licentiate in Theology from Université de Montréal, a Master of Arts in religious studies from McGill University, studies in ecumenical theology at the University of Geneva and his Doctor of Philosophy in pastoral theology at Université de Montréal. The Most Reverend
The Most Reverend is a style applied to certain religious figures, primarily within the historic denominations of Christianity, but occasionally in some more modern traditions also. It is a variant of the more common style "The Reverend". Anglican In the Anglican Communion, the style is applied to archbishops (including those who, for historical reasons, bear an alternative title, such as presiding bishop), rather than the style "The Right Reverend" which is used by other bishops. "The Most Reverend" is used by both primates (the senior archbishop of each independent national or regional church) and metropolitan archbishops (as metropolitan of an ecclesiastical province within a national or regional church). Brian Joseph Dunn (born 1955) is a Canadian prelate of the Catholic Church who is Archbishop of Halifax-Yarmouth. He was Bishop of Antigonish from 2010 to 2019. Early years Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Dunn was raised in the mining community of Buchans where he attended primary and elementary school before moving to the fishing community of Harbour Grace where he attended secondary school. Dunn attended Memorial University of Newfoundland for one year before transferring to King's University College of the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with a BA in 1976. Dunn completed seminary formation at St. Peter's Seminary, graduating with a MDiv in 1979. Raymond Lahey
Raymond John Lahey (born 29 May 1940) is a Canadian former priest and former bishop of the Catholic Church. He was Bishop of the Diocese of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, from 2003 to 2009. Lahey was charged in 2009 with the importation of child pornography. He was suspended from the exercise of his priestly and sacramental functions, resigned as bishop in 2009, and was laicized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012. Terrence Thomas Prendergast (born 19 February 1944) is a Canadian member of the Society of Jesus who is also a prelate of the Roman Catholic Church and the Archbishop Emeritus of Ottawa-Cornwall. He was formerly an Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto and the Archbishop of Halifax. History In the later organization of the Roman Empire, the increasingly subdivided provinces were administratively associated in a larger unit, the diocese (Latin ''dioecesis'', from the Greek term διοίκησις, meaning "administration"). Jean-Claude Turcotte () (26 June 1936 – 8 April 2015) was a Canadian Roman Catholic cardinal. Upon his elevation into the cardinalate he was made the Cardinal-Priest of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Canadian Martyrs. He was the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Montreal from 1990 to 2012, and was succeeded as Archbishop by Christian Lépine.
