Anthony January (born June 16, 1993) is an American professional basketball player that currently plays for Prawira Bandung of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). Early life January was born in Los Angeles to Anthony January Sr. and Pamela Green. High school and college career January played his first three years of high school basketball at Compton High School. He played his final season at William Howard Taft High School, during which he earned West Valley League MVP, and CIF Los Angeles City Section Player of the year award averaging 22 points and 13 rebounds after gaining eligibility following his transfer from Compton. Professional career January has played for PEA of the Thailand Basketball League, Cactus Tbilisi of the Georgian Superliga, and BC Mažeikiai of the National Basketball League of Lithuania. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Prawira Bandung
Prawira Bandung is an Indonesian basketball club based in the city of Bandung, West Java province. It was founded by Lilian Wijaya in 1991 as Hadtex Indosyntec. The club is a member of the Perbasi's top division since 1994. They won championships in 1994, 1997, and 1998. The club's most recent victory was in the 2010 Jakarta Governor's Cup event, where it won the championship. The Georgian Basketball Super League ( ka, საკალათბურთო სუპერლიგა, Sakalatburto Superliga), also known as the Georgian Top League, is the highest professional basketball league in Georgia. The first season was played in 1991, and was won by Dinamo Tbilisi. The 1990s were dominated by BC Vita Tbilisi, who won the title a record 7 times. BC Batumi, and then Energy Invest Rustavi, dominated the following decade. The CIF Los Angeles City Section (CIF-LA) is the governing body of high school athletics for public schools in the city of Los Angeles and some surrounding communities. All of these schools were once associated with the Los Angeles Unified School District. It is one of ten sections that constitute the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF).
