Anthony Hill (cricketer)
Anthony Ewart Ledger Hill (14 July 1901 – 25 October 1986) was an English first-class cricketer. Hill was a right-handed batsman. Hill made his first-class debut for Hampshire against Gloucestershire in the 1920 County Championship. From 1920 to 1930 Hill represented the County in eighteen first-class matches, scoring 193 runs at an average of 7.42, with a top score of 24. After playing infrequently for the County, Hill played his final first-class match in the 1930 County Championship against Nottinghamshire. Hill was best remembered during his time at Hampshire as a splendid fielder. In addition to representing Hampshire, Hill also represented the Marylebone Cricket Club in a single first-class match against Wales. Harrison died in Winchester, Hampshire on 25 October 1986. Anthony Hill (23 April 1930 – 13 October 2020) was an English artist, painter and relief-maker, originally a member of the post-World War II British art movement termed the Constructionist Group whose work was essentially in the international constructivist tradition. Biography His fellow members in this group were Victor Pasmore, Adrian Heath, John Ernest, Kenneth Martin, Mary Martin, Gillian Wise (artist) and Stephen Gilbert. He was born on 23 April 1930 in London, and studied at the St Martin's and the Central Schools of Art 1948–51. He began painting in the style of Dada and Surrealism in 1948 but quickly moved on to geometric abstract idioms. He made his first relief in 1954 and abandoned painting for relief-making in 1956. One feature of these reliefs has been the use of non-traditional materials such as industrial aluminium and Perspex. Viscount Hill, of Hawkstone and of Hardwicke in the County of Salop, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1842 for General Rowland Hill. He had already been created Baron Hill, of Almaraz and of Hawkstone in the County of Salop, in 1814, with remainder to the heirs male of his body, and Baron Hill, of Almarez and of Hawkestone and Hardwicke in the County of Salop, in 1816, with remainder to the heirs male of his elder brother John Hill. The viscountcy was created with the same special remainder. On the first Viscount's death in 1842, the barony of 1814 became extinct as he had no male issue, while he was succeeded in the barony of 1816 and the Viscountcy according to the special remainders by his nephew Sir Rowland Hill, 4th Baronet. Anthony Hill (born 1942) is an Australian author based in Canberra. Born in Melbourne, Victoria, he attended the University of Melbourne from 1960 until 1963 and then worked as a journalist at the ''Melbourne Herald'' before joining the Parliamentary Press Gallery in 1972. In 1977 he left the Press Gallery to run an antique shop near Yass, which he did for the next six years. From 1989 until 1999 he was a speech writer for the Australian governors-general William Hayden and Sir William Deane. He has written twelve books, with ''Young Digger'' and ''Soldier Boy'' winning prizes. Anthony Lloyd Hill (born 26 June 1951), commonly known as Tony Hill, is retired international cricket umpire from New Zealand. He was former member of the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires. His first international fixture was an ODI between New Zealand and Zimbabwe at Napier in March 1998, and he stood in his first test match in December 2001 between New Zealand and Bangladesh at Hamilton. Antonio LaVosia Hill (born October 23, 1968) is a former American football defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He also played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. The shooting of Anthony Hill, a U.S. Air Force veteran, occurred on March 9, 2015, in Chamblee, Georgia, near Atlanta. Hill, fatally shot by police officer Robert Olsen, suffered from mental illness and was naked and unarmed at the time of the incident. The incident was covered in local and national press and sparked the involvement of Black Lives Matter and other advocacy groups who demonstrated their anger at the shooting. In January 2016, a grand jury indicted officer Olsen on two counts of felony murder and one count of aggravated assault.
