Anthony Francis Sharma
Anthony Francis Sharma S.J. (December 12, 1937 – December 8, 2015) was a Nepalese Jesuit prelate and educator who became the first Catholic bishop of Nepal. A member of the Society of Jesus, Sharma was appointed the prefect of Nepal in 1996 by Pope John Paul II. He was ordained Nepal's first Catholic bishop in 2007. Sharma oversaw the growth of the modern Catholic Church in Nepal. He founded Caritas Nepal, a Catholic service organization, in 1990. He lobbied for official recognition of the Catholic faith by the government. In 1993, the Nepal Catholic Society won official recognition. Sharma also oversaw the establishment of 23 Catholic schools in the country. Paul Simick
Bishop Paul Simick is a prelate serving as Vicar Apostolic of Nepal and the Titular Bishop of Maturba. Early life and education Simick was born on 7 August 1963 in Gitdubling, West Bengal, India. He studied philosophy and theology from the Morning Star Regional Seminary, Barrackpore, Kolkata. He completed his master's degree, a licentiate and doctorate in Biblical Theology from the Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome. Priesthood Simick was ordained a Catholic priest on 9 April 1992 and served as Hostel Prefect of Namchi Public School in Sikkim. He was the pastor of St. Maurice Parish, Suruk, Darjeeling; parish priest at Christ the King Parish, Pakyong, East Sikkim; and parish priest at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Darjeeling.
