Anthony Effah
Anthony Effah is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency in the Central Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party. Early life and education Effah was born on 24 January 1960 and hails from Breman-Brakwa in the Central Region of Ghana. He had his Bachelors' degree in Economics in 1985 and also his Executive Masters' in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Ghana in 2003. Career Effah was the Director of Risk Management and Compliance at Fidelity Bank in Accra. He was also the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Brakwa-Breman Rural Bank. Politics Effah is a member of New Patriotic Party. He was the member of Parliament for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency in the Central Region from 2017 to 2021. Convention People's Party
The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a Socialism, socialist political party in Ghana based on the ideas of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in June 1949 after Nkrumah broke away from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Nkrumah was the then appointed Secretaty General of the UGCC when he was arrested by the leader of the UGCC and imprisoned for an alleged thought, plans and power against Kwame Nkrumah's leadership. Kwame Nkrumah then formed the Convention People's Party with support of some UGCC members and had a purpose for self governance. Progressive People's Party (PPP) ( ak, Kɔ anim ɔmanfo Apontow) is a political party in Ghana. It was formed in 2012 by Paa Kwesi Nduom, the presidential candidate for the Convention People's Party in the 2008 general election. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. 2016 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2016 to elect a President and Members of Parliament. They had originally been scheduled for 7 November 2016, but the date was later rejected by Parliament. Former foreign minister Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party was elected President on his third attempt, defeating incumbent President John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ( ; born 29 March 1944) is a Ghanaian politician who has served as the president of Ghana since 7 January 2017.
