Anthony Davis (comedian)
Anthony Davis (born 16 November 1974, London) is a broadcaster, journalist and entertainer. He first appeared in BBC sitcoms and drama such as ''Grange Hill'' and '' Tricky Business'' in the 1980s as a child performer, earning him a place in the ''Radio Times Guide to TV Comedy''. Since childhood Davis' talents encompassed music, magic, impersonation and comedy. As variety fell out of favour in the mid-1990s, he emerged as a host, compére and quizmaster, presenting '' Stake Out'' on ''Challenge TV'' and making headlines as the voice of the 2002 Commonwealth Games opening and closing ceremonies. As a BBC events announcer and commentator he voiced the Royal Variety Performance (2004 and 2006), 2004 TV Moments, Eurovision: ''Making Your Mind Up'' (2005 and 2007), and Comic Relief Night. Jazz FM is a radio station broadcasting on digital radio in the United Kingdom and Malta which predominantly plays jazz music, jazz standards as well as blues and soul music. ''The Alan Titchmarsh Show'' is a British daytime chat show presented by Alan Titchmarsh. It was first broadcast on ITV on 3 September 2007 until 14 November 2014 and aired on weekday afternoons. The show's main focus is the "Best of British" theme with many of the shows' segments focusing on fashion, health, nature, cookery and animals. On 18 March 2014, Titchmarsh announced that he was leaving the show. The last episode aired on 14 November 2014. Format The programme made its debut on ITV in 2007. Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Nick Abbot (born 22 August 1960) is an English radio presenter and currently presents ''The Late Show'' on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on LBC. Clive Bull (born 23 January 1959) is an English radio talk show host, best known for presenting a late-night show on LBC in London. Background Bull was educated at Dulwich College in south east London, between 1970 and 1977 where he was a leading light of the tape-based "College Radio". LBC (originally the London Broadcasting Company) is a British phone-in and talk radio station owned and operated by Global and based in its headquarters in London. It was the UK's first licensed commercial radio station, and began to broadcast on Monday 8 October 1973, a week ahead of Capital Radio. Capital Life, also known as Life, was a digital radio station broadcasting across the UK on the Digital One network and streamed online. Capital Life was due to be available on DTV but never launched due to the closure of the station. About Capital Life was owned by GCap Media, having been launched by Capital Radio PLC before the company merged with the GWR Group PLC. It was one of the first DAB Digital Radio stations to launch in the UK in 1999 on the Digital One multiplex. The station had two presenters to start with.
