Anthony Cowan Jr.
Anthony Cowan Jr. (born October 7, 1997) is an American professional basketball player and the team captain for Promitheas Patras of the Greek Basket League and the Basketball Champions League. He played college basketball for the Maryland Terrapins. High school career Cowan began playing basketball at the age of seven. He attended St. John's College High School. As a senior, Cowan led St. John's to beat DeMatha Catholic High School for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference title. He played on the D.C. Assault Amateur Athletic Union team alongside future college teammate Melo Trimble. A four-star recruit rated the No. 62 prospect in his class by Scout.com, Cowan committed to Maryland. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. NBA G League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm team, farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. 2020 NBA Draft
The 2020 NBA draft was held on November 18, 2020. The draft was originally scheduled to be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was instead conducted at ESPN's facilities in Bristol, Connecticut, with the event held via videoconferencing. National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. Iowa Hawkeyes Men's Basketball
The Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team is part of the University of Iowa athletics department. The Hawkeyes have played in 28 NCAA Tournaments, eight NIT Tournaments, won eight Big Ten regular-season conference championships and won the Big Ten tournament three times. Iowa has played in the Final Four on three occasions, reaching the semifinals in 1955 and 1980 and playing in the championship game against the University of San Francisco in 1956. The Temple Owls men's basketball team represents Temple University in the sport of basketball.
