Anthony Castro (baseball)
Anthony Silfredo Castro (born April 13, 1995) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Cleveland Guardians. Career Detroit Tigers Castro signed with the Detroit Tigers as an international free agent in July 2011 and would spend all of 2012 and 2013 with the VSL Tigers. In 2014, he played for the GCL Tigers and would go on to post a 6–3 record and 4.10 ERA over thirteen games, with twelve starts. He would, however, miss all of 2015 as a result of Tommy John surgery and against spent 2016 with the GCL Tigers, finally making his full-season Tigers organization debut in 2017 with the West Michigan Whitecaps. That season he posted a 10–6 record with a 2.49 ERA as a starter, only allowing opponents to hit .226 off of him. Anthony John Bemboom (born January 18, 1990) is an American professional baseball catcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Tampa Bay Rays, Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles. Career Early career Bemboom graduated from Sauk Rapids-Rice High School in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. He attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, from 2009 through 2010. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, from 2011 through 2012. The Los Angeles Angels selected Bemboom in the 22nd round, with the 687th overall selection, of the 2012 MLB draft. He signed with the Angels and played in Minor League Baseball for their organization from 2012 through 2016. Designated for assignment (DFA) is a contractual term used in Major League Baseball (MLB). A player who is designated for assignment is immediately removed from the team's 40-man roster, after which the team must within seven days, return the player to the 40-man roster, place the player on waivers, trade the player, release the player, or outright the player from the 40-man roster into Minor League Baseball. Governance MLB player transactions are governed by ''The Official Professional Baseball Rules Book''. Norfolk Tides
The Norfolk Tides are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. They are located in Norfolk, Virginia, and are named in nautical reference to the city's location on the Chesapeake Bay. The team plays their home games at Harbor Park, which opened in 1993. The Tides previously played at High Rock Park in 1961 and 1962, Frank D. Lawrence Stadium from 1961 to 1969, and at Met Park from its opening in 1970 until the end of the 1992 season. Originally known as the Portsmouth-Norfolk Tides, the team began play in 1961 as members of the Class A South Atlantic League.
