Anthony Briançon (born 28 November 1994) is a French professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for club Saint-Étienne. Career Briançon is a youth exponent from Nîmes. He made his Ligue 2 debut at 16 May 2014 against Créteil, replacing Pierre Bouby after 54 minutes in a 1–1 away draw. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
