Anouk Discography
The discography of Dutch singer-songwriter Anouk consists of twelve studio albums, four live albums, one compilation album, one extended play (EP), twenty-eight singles as a solo artist, two singles as a featured artist, five promotional singles and five video albums. Anouk's debut single, "Mood Indigo", was released in 1996 and became a moderate hit in her native Netherlands. Its follow-up, " Nobody's Wife", was released the following year. After peaking at number two on the Dutch Top 40, the single became a European hit, entering the top ten in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Both singles were included in her first studio album. Titled ''Together Alone'', it topped the Dutch Albums Chart and also achieved commercial success across Europe. With her second album, ''Urban Solitude'', Anouk failed to repeat her international success, but consolidated her career in the Netherlands and in Flanders. Anouk Schemmekes (, ; born 8 April 1975), professionally known by the mononym Anouk, is a Dutch singer and songwriter. After her 1997 breakthrough rock single '' Nobody's Wife'', she had hit records in the Dutch and Belgian charts. Many of her albums topped the Dutch album charts; most of them going Platinum and several debuting in the number 1 position. Her most famous singles include: ''R U Kiddin' Me'', ''Michel'', ''Girl'', ''Lost'', ''Modern World'', '' Three Days in a Row'', ''Birds'', and ''Woman''. Anouk had released thirteen studio albums by 2022, a mix of anglophonic rock, pop and adult contemporary; one of which was recorded in the U.S., produced by Glen Ballard. The Official Finnish Charts ( fi, Suomen virallinen lista; sv, Finlands officiella lista) are national record charts in Finland compiled and published by Musiikkituottajat – IFPI Finland. The name ''Suomen virallinen lista/Finlands officiella lista'' (lit. "the Official Finnish Chart"), which is singular in both Finnish and Swedish, is used generically to refer to both the albums and the singles chart, and the context (albums or songs) reveals which chart is meant. The Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA) is the organization that represents the interests of the music, video and video game industries in Belgium. It was founded in February 2008, when three organizations merged, namely IFPI Belgium, the local chapter of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), which represented the music industry, the Belgian Video Federation, which represented the video industry, and the Belgian Luxembourg Interactive Software Association, which represented the video game industry. BEA is listed as the local record industry association in Belgium by the IFPI. Sales charts The publication of sales charts in Belgium is done through Ultratop, a non-profit organization created BEA. NVPI (Nederlandse Vereniging van Producenten en Importeurs van beeld - en geluidsdragers) ( en, The Dutch Association of Producers and Importers of image - and sound carriers) is the Dutch trade association of the entertainment industry. The NVPI represents most of the Dutch record companies, video distributors and game-software distributors. History The NVPI is found in 1973 as a representative of the record companies in the Netherlands. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as ''Compact Disc Digital Audio, Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage. Dino Entertainment was a firm specializing in the compilation market of the late 1980s and early 1990s, releasing records such as the ''That Loving Feeling'' and ''Energy Rush'' range of CDs, in competition with Telstar Records, Arcade Records and K-Tel. Despite a relatively successful run at releasing various genres of music under the Dino label, increasing competition in the Compilation sector forced Dino to close down in 1997 after releasing just over 130 different albums in eight years.
