Taluk
A tehsil (, also known as tahsil, taluka, or taluk) is a local unit of administrative division in some countries of South Asia. It is a subdistrict of the area within a district including the designated populated place that serves as its administrative centre, with possible additional towns, and usually a number of villages. The terms in India have replaced earlier terms, such as '' pargana'' (''pergunnah'') and ''thana''. Coimbatore district is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. Coimbatore is the administrative headquarters of the district. Annur is a town Panchayat and Taluk headquarters of Annur Taluk of coimbatore district. It is a suburb of Coimbatore city located north-east about from the center of the city. Nearest airport is Coimbatore International Airport, which is about and the nearest railway station is Mettupalayam, which is about away.
