This is a list of newsreaders and reporters currently employed by BBC Television and BBC Radio. BBC News employs many presenters and correspondents who appear across television, radio and contribute to BBC Online. BBC News provides television journalism to BBC One bulletins and the rolling news channels BBC World News and the BBC News Channel in the United Kingdom. BBC Television
BBC Television is a service of the BBC. The corporation has operated a public broadcast television service in the United Kingdom, under the terms of a royal charter, since 1927. It produced television programmes from its own studios from 1932, although the start of its regular service of television broadcasts is dated to 2 November 1936. The BBC's domestic television channels have no commercial advertising and collectively they accounted for more than 30% of all UK viewing in 2013. The services are funded by a television licence. Emma Barnett
Emma Barnett (born 5 February 1985) is a British broadcaster and journalist. She has been the main presenter of ''Woman's Hour'' on BBC Radio 4 since January 2021. Barnett worked for BBC Radio 5 Live for six years, beginning in 2014, after three years working for LBC. Between 2016 and 2020 she presented 5 Live's mid-morning weekday programme. Before beginning her broadcasting career she worked for ''The Daily Telegraph'', first as its Digital Media editor and latterly its Women editor, being credited with bringing a more serious edge to the coverage of women's issues in the paper. Martine Croxall
Martine Sarah Croxall (born 23 February 1969) is a British television journalist. She is one of the main news presenters on BBC News. Education Martine Sarah Croxall was born on 23 February 1969 and grew up in Stoke Golding, a village in the Hinckley and Bosworth district of Leicestershire, England, where her father ran Croxall Hosiery. She attended the independent Bablake School in Coventry and studied Geography at the University of Leeds, gaining her BA in 1990. BBC News At Nine
The ''BBC News at Nine'' (currently styled as ''BBC News at 9'') is a morning news programme. It is aired every Sunday to Friday on BBC Two and the BBC News Channel for 60 minutes from 9am until 10am. On weekends, it is replaced by a standard edition of BBC World News. The programme is presented by Victoria Derbyshire, Annita McVeigh, and Ben Brown. The show includes a detailed look at the news, as well as analysis with guests and business, sport, newspaper review, your questions and weather updates. Viewers are encouraged to get in contact with the presenters using #BBCYourQuestions & #BBCNewsNine, Victoria@bbc.co.uk, text and Facebook with them regularly reading them out throughout the programme. Reeta Chakrabarti
Reeta Chakrabarti (born 12 December 1964) is a British journalist, newsreader and correspondent for BBC News. She is known for presenting ''BBC News at One'', ''BBC News at Six'', ''BBC News at Ten'' and ''BBC Weekend News'', and presenting regularly on the BBC News Channel and occasionally BBC World News. She has also reported extensively in the UK and abroad for BBC News. Early life Reeta Chakrabarti was born on 12 December 1964 in Ealing, London to an Indian Bengali family and was raised in Birmingham. As a teenager she lived in India, attending the Calcutta International School in Kolkata and King Edward VI High School for Girls. Chakrabarti studied English and French at Exeter College, Oxford, from 1984 to 1988, including a year in France. Of her time at Oxford, Chakrabarti said, "I loved my time there. Question Time (TV Programme)
''Question Time'' is a topical debate programme, typically broadcast on BBC One at 10:45 pm on Thursdays. It is usually repeated on BBC Two (with sign language) and on BBC Parliament, later in the week. If there is a Leaders special, it would be simulcasted on BBC News. ''Question Time'' is also available on BBC iPlayer. Fiona Bruce currently chairs the show having succeeded David Dimbleby as presenter in January 2019. Mentorn has produced the programme since 1998. BBC News At Ten
''BBC News at Ten'' formerly known as the ''BBC Ten O'Clock News'' or the ''Ten O'Clock News'' is the flagship evening news programme for the BBC News channel and British television channel BBC One on weekdays and Sundays at 10:00pm. Huw Edwards is the lead presenter for the bulletin on weekdays. The Sunday edition of the bulletin is presented by Mishal Husain or Clive Myrie. The programme was controversially moved from 9:00pm to 10:00pm on 16 October 2000. BBC Weekend News
''BBC Weekend News'' is the BBC's national news programme on BBC One at the weekend and bank holidays, although it is often referred to on guides simply as ''BBC News''. It is called ''BBC Weekend News'' on all bulletins, apart from the late bulletin on Sunday where it is named BBC News at Ten. The programmes are simulcast on the BBC News Channel, unless it clashes with the edition of ''World News Today'' at 9:00pm or a major news story is being covered on the News Channel. Format ''BBC Weekend News'' airs three times on both Saturday and Sunday, and is also used as the title of the BBC News Channel simulcast on Sunday mornings during August when The Andrew Marr Show doesn't air. The ''BBC News at One'' is the afternoon/lunchtime news bulletin from the BBC. Produced by BBC News, the programme is broadcast on BBC One and the BBC News (TV channel), BBC News channel (via British Sign Language) from Monday to Sunday at 1:00pm for 30 minutes, although a shorter bulletin can be BBC Weekend News, broadcast on the weekend.
