The Kunming Open (formerly known as the ATP China International Tennis Challenge – Anning and the Anning Open) is a tennis tournament held in Anning, China since 2012. The women's event first started in 2014, joining the men's Challenger. Anning () is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province, China. It is located approximately 28 kilometers southwest of Kunming city proper. Mohamed Safwat ( ar, محمد صفوت; born 19 September 1990) is an Egyptian tennis player. Safwat has been a regular player on the Egypt Davis Cup team since 2009. Safwat has won one singles and three titles in doubles on the ATP Challenger Tour. He is currently the Egyptian No. 1. Prajnesh Gunneswaran (born 12 November 1989) is an Indian tennis player. He has won 2 ATP Challenger and 8 ITF titles in singles and 1 ITF title in doubles. Halys has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 64 achieved on 21 November 2022 and a doubles ranking of No. 129 achieved on 3 October 2022. Jordan Thompson (born 20 April 1994) is an Australian professional tennis player, reaching a career-high ranking of World No. 43 on 15 July 2019. Franko Škugor (; born 20 September 1987) is a Croatian professional tennis player who mainly competes on the ATP Challenger Tour and specialized in doubles. He has a career-high ATP doubles ranking of World No. 17 achieved on 22 April 2019. He is best known for his very powerful serve up to 230 km/h (143 mph) along with very strong groundstrokes.
