Annie Bridget McCarrick (born March 21, 1966) is an American woman from Long Island, New York who went missing under suspicious circumstances on March 26, 1993, while she was residing in Ireland. Background McCarrick was born on Long Island, New York and she lived there until her move to Ireland in January 1987. She was the only child of her parents John and Nancy. She visited Ireland on a school trip as a teenager and fell in love with the country. She studied at St Patrick's College, Drumcondra and St Patrick's College, Maynooth in the late 1980s, then returned to New York and began studying at Stony Brook University in 1991. She moved to Ireland permanently on 4 January 1993. She moved into rented accommodation in Sandymount with two other tenants. Antonio Anglés Martins (born 25 July 1966) is a Brazilian- Spanish criminal and fugitive. He lived in his native Brazil for a year before moving to Spain. Ireland's Vanishing Triangle is a term commonly used in the Irish media when referring to a number of high-profile disappearances of Irish women from the late-1980s to the late-1990s. Several other women were also murdered within the triangle and their cases remain unsolved as well. All of the cases appeared to share some common characteristics. The women's ages range from their late-teens to late-30s, they disappeared inexplicably and suddenly, and no substantial clues or evidence of their fate has ever been found despite large scale searches and campaigns by the Gardaí (Irish police) to find them. Gardaí believe their remains are likely to be buried in remote fields, bogs and forests.
