Annie Katsura Rollins
Annie Katsura Rollins is an American artist, scenic designer, and puppeteer. She specializes in traditional Chinese shadow puppetry. Early life and education Rollins grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her mother is of Chinese and Japanese ancestry. Annie spent a semester in China during high school. She earned a BFA in music theatre from Carnegie Mellon University in 2002 and earned her MFA in scenography from the University of Minnesota in 2010. During the summer of 2008, Rollins apprenticed with Master Wei of the Hua Xian Shadow Troupe in Shaanxi province. There she learned techniques of carving and animating figures, publishing a blog about her experiences. Rollins was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in 2011 and spent a year in China apprenticing in traditional Chinese shadow puppetry. The Southern Theater
The Southern Theater is located in the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Built in 1910 as a cultural center and legitimate theater for the burgeoning Scandinavian community centered on Cedar Avenue ("Snoose Boulevard"), the Southern has been re-established as a center for contemporary performing arts over the past quarter-century. ''Threshold'' is an American science fiction drama television series that first aired on CBS in September 2005. Produced by Brannon Braga, David S. Goyer and David Heyman, the series focuses on a secret government project investigating the first contact with an extraterrestrial species. The series was first shown on Friday nights, but was moved to Tuesday in an effort to boost ratings. This plan backfired, with the show registering a sharp drop in its ratings on its first Tuesday night showing on November 22, 2005, and CBS canceled the series on November 23, 2005, with four episodes left unaired. ''Big Day'', originally titled ''A Day in the Life'', is an American television sitcom that first aired on ABC from November 28, 2006, to January 30, 2007. The series was co-produced by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa and directed by Michael Spiller for Sony Pictures Television. Originally, it was supposed to debut on October 5, 2006, along with ''Notes from the Underbelly'', but ABC made a last-minute change in its schedule by moving ''Ugly Betty'' to Thursday, thus replacing both sitcoms whose "buzz" was not especially promising.
