Annica Birgitta Teres Svensson (born 3 March 1983) is a Swedish former football defender who last played in Sweden for Eskilstuna United DFF. She previously played for Tyresö FF, and spent the second half of the 2013 season on loan at Vittsjö GIK. She represented Sweden at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics. Career A late bloomer, Svensson made her Sweden debut at the age of 27, in a 1–1 draw with United States on 30 July 2010. Svensson played ten times for Sweden's national youth teams, with the last appearance in 2001. She was called into the senior national team two years after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury while captaining Hammarby IF DFF in the Damallsvenskan. The women's football tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics was held in London and five other cities in the United Kingdom from 25 July to 9 August. In sports, a loan involves a particular player being able to temporarily play for a club other than the one to which they are currently contracted. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to a full season, sometimes persisting for multiple seasons at a time. 2012 Damallsvenskan
The 2012 Damallsvenskan, part of the 2012 Swedish football season, was the 25th season of Damallsvenskan since its establishment in 1988. The 2012 fixtures were released on 8 December 2011. The season began on 9 April 2012 and ended on 3 November 2012. LdB FC Malmö were the defending champions, having won their 7th title the previous season. In an interesting season finish Malmö had a five points advantage over Tyresö two days before the end. On the second last matchday though Malmö only drew, while Tyresö won and the teams then met on the final matchday to play for the championship. Due to a better goal difference Tyresö won its first title after a late goal for a 1–0 win. A total of twelve teams contested the league, 10 returning from the 2011 season and two promoted from Division 1. The Damallsvenskan, Swedish for ''ladies all-Swedish'' and also known as OBOS Damallsvenskan for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Sweden. It is also referred to as the women's Allsvenskan. The term Allsvenskan alone is used to reference the men's division. The division consists of a league of 14 teams. From 2013, the Damallsvenskan began operating on a system of promotion and relegation with the Elitettan. The two lowest placed teams are relegated to the Elitettan, and the two highest placed teams from the Elitettan are promoted in their place.
