Annet Genestier
Annet Genestier (16 April 18569 January 1937, zh, c=任安守, p=Rén Ān shǒu) was a French Catholic priest of the Society of Foreign Missions of Paris and a botanist. Biography Genestier was born in Chambon-sur-Dolore. He was ordained a priest on 5 July 1885 in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Clermont. On 7 October 1885, he departed for his mission. Genestier came to Kangding in 1885. He arrived in Gongshan, Yunnan, in 1888. In 1896 he moved to Baihanluo, Yunnan. There he founded the in 1898. He also established a missionary post there in June 1899. In 1905, conflicts against Christianity broke out in Deqing, , Zhongdian and Batang. In the same year, Genestier also wanted to build a church at Zhongding, Bingzhongluo, but he was opposed by the lamas at Puhua Temple () and the locals. George Forrest (botanist)
George Forrest (13 March 1873 – 5 January 1932) was a Scottish botanist, who became one of the first western explorers of China's then remote southwestern province of Yunnan, generally regarded as the most biodiverse province in the country. Early life George Forrest was born in Falkirk, Scotland on 13 March 1873. He went to Kilmarnock Academy. After leaving school, he was apprenticed with a local chemist until 1891 when, on the inheritance of a small legacy, he then decided to travel to Australia,Charles Adams, Mike Early, Jane Brook and Katherine Bamford where he searched for gold and also worked on a sheep station before returning to Scotland in 1902. Forrest's life then took a most unexpected turn; caught in a shower while fishing the Gladhouse Loch in Tweedsdale, he sought shelter beneath an overhanging bank where he chanced upon an ancient stone coffin.
