Andriy Mykhaylovych Annenkov ( uk, Aндрiй Михайлович Aннєнков; russian: Aндрeй Михайлович Aннeнков; born 21 January 1969) is a Ukrainian retired professional football international player and current manager. Irina Yurievna Annenkova (russian: Ирина Юрьевна Анненкова; born February 22, 1999 in Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Russia) is a Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2014 Youth Olympic champion and the 2014 European Junior ball and ribbon champion. Personal life Annenkova has been practicing gymnastics since the age of 5 but it wasn't until she was 7 years old she had her proper training after begging her grandmother to take her to rhythmic gymnastics class, considered a late start for the sport. Career Her international breakthrough event was competing in junior division at the 2012 Moscow Grand Prix. General Mikhail Nikolayevich Annenkov (russian: Михаил Николаевич Анненков; formerly also transcribed Michael Nicolaivitch Annenkoff) (1835 in St. Petersburg, Russia – January 21, 1899 (New Style) in St. Petersburg, Russia) was a Russian nobleman, author, military officer, and renowned engineer. An important figure in the history of the Russian conquest of Turkestan in the 19th Century, he was Governor-General of the Transcaspian Region (today's Turkmenistan). General Annenkov was the builder of the strategic Transcaspian Railway in its initial stages through what is now Turkmenistan, which made possible the bloody defeat of the Turkmen at Geok-Tepe in 1881. He was also involved in the planning of the Trans-Siberian railroad, which was under construction at the time of his death. Nikolay Aleksandrovich Annenkov (russian: Никола́й Алекса́ндрович А́нненков; , Kalugino, Tambov Governorate – 30 September 1999, Moscow) was the longest-lived People's Artist of the USSR before Igor Moiseyev and Vladimir Zeldin. He worked in the Maly Theatre from 1924 until his centenary and was awarded three Stalin Prizes. Annenkov celebrated his 100th birthday playing on stage but died only 10 days later. General Nicholas Nikolaievich Annenkov (Николай Николаевич Анненков) (December 1799 in Sergachsky Uyezd, Nizhny Novgorod Governorate – 25 November 1865 in St. Petersburg, Russia) was an influential Russian General of the Infantry, Governor-General of Kiev and Bessarabia, and member of the State Privy Council. He was the brother of prominent Russian poet, Varvara Annenkova. 1799–1830 Born into great wealth as a member of the nobility of Nizhny Novgorod Governorate, Nicholas Annenkov was the son of Colonel Nicholas Nikanorovich Annenkov (1764–1839). After briefly attending Moscow University, he joined the Army to fight against Napoleon, thereby beginning a military career that would last the rest of his life. Pavel Vasilyevich Annenkov (russian: Па́вел Васи́льевич А́нненков) (July 1, 1813 – March 20, 1887) was a significant Russian Empire literary critic and memoirist. Biography Annenkov was born into a wealthy landowning family in Moscow. He attended the philological faculty of St Petersburg University. In the late 1830s he met Vissarion Belinsky, Alexander Herzen, Mikhail Bakunin and Ivan Turgenev, with whom he became lifelong friends. Annenkov Island is to the west of the main island of South Georgia Island, South Georgia. The Pickersgill Islands are to its southeast. It is irregularly shaped and long and high, lying off the south-central coast of South Georgia. History The island was discovered in January 1775 by a British expedition under James Cook, who named it Pickersgills Island for Lieutenant Richard Pickersgill of the expedition ship HMS Resolution (1771), HMS ''Resolution''.
