Anneliese Rubie
Anneliese Rubie (born 22 April 1992) is an Australian sprinter. Also known as Anneliese Rubie-Renshaw, she was a semi finalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. She also ran in the semi-finals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She ran the second leg for the women's 4 × 400 m which made the Olympic final in 2016. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Rubie was a member of the Australian team that competed in the women's 4 x 400 meter relay. The team of Kendra Hubbard, Ellie Beer and Bendere Oboya finished 7th in their heat and did not contest the final. Early years As an 18 year old in 2010 she made the semi-finals at the World Juniors. She made the semi-finals at the World University Games in 2011 and also competed at the senior 2011 World Championships. 2015 IAAF World Relays
The 2015 IAAF World Relays was the second edition of the biennial, global track and field relay competition between nations. As in the previous year, it was held in May in Nassau, Bahamas. Apart from contesting for the Golden Baton for the best team overall, the competition also served as a qualifying stage for the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 4 × 100 and 4 × 400 metres relay. One major change compared to the inaugural edition was the replacement of the 4 × 1500 metres relay with the distance medley relay. The 2014 IAAF Continental Cup was an international track and field sporting event that was held in Marrakech, Morocco, on 13–14 September 2014. It was the second edition of the IAAF Continental Cup since the name and format was changed from the IAAF World Cup. Format The four teams competing in the event was Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. Athletics was one of ten core sports that appeared at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. As a founding sport, athletics has appeared consistently since its introduction at the 1911 Inter-Empire Games; the recognised precursor to the Commonwealth Games. The competition took place between Sunday 27 July and Saturday 2 August at the temporarily modified Hampden Park, Scotland's national football stadium. The programme commenced with the 26.2 mile marathon, which started and finished at Glasgow Green and included numerous para-sport events throughout. Racewalking events were dropped from the programme for 2014 – a move condemned by walking athletes. The 2014 IAAF World Relays were held in May 2014 in Nassau, Bahamas. The event was the first edition of the IAAF World Relays. There were five events for each gender. In men's and women's 4 x 100 metres and 4 x 400 metres, the event served as a qualification event for the 2015 World Championships in Athletics.
